I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Municipal Council of Thika for launching this extensive Website, which will assist the Council with the challenges of providing services to the fast growing population of Thika, through availing information and services online.

The Thika Council Website, particularly through power point presentations to the public – will be an extremely powerful, effective and unmatched communication tool – to foster and enhance efficiency and accountability in service delivery, as the Website provides mechanisms for feedback from all partners / stakeholders.

The residents will be able to interrogate their respective Councillor in each Ward and the Municipal Council, thus helping to further stir up public interest and assist keep the Council in line with the requirements presented in the Millennium Development Goals.

Through the Municipal Website - citizens, stakeholders, Council officials and Councillors - shall participate and work closely to identify, plan, implement and monitor local services, LATF and LASDAP activities, as well as capital and other development projects.

As the Area Member of Parliament and a resident of Thika Municipality, I am proud of the Municipal Council of Thika’s resolve to embark on this bold path to accomplish strategic developments through good governance, transparency and accountability.
